So I’m here in yet another server room, stuck working at a client’s on a Saturday again, and counting on my iPaq to keep me entertained while the servers trade their data. So I decide to try and input some text into PhatNotes, to prepare for the next podcast (which I was/am hoping to do tonight). And it’s slow going using only Fitaly. I’ve gotten faster with it, but not that fast yet. And then I remembered that I used to write decently fast using PhatWare’s Calligrapher handwriting recognition software. I don’t have access to my registered copy at home, sadly (I hadn’t installed it on the iPaq again yet), so I decided to just download the trial version so I could work with it for now and then install the full version when I got back home.
So I install it, it works, I’m writing, and then, something crashes and locks my iPaq. Can’t write, can’tt ap, can’t do anything. So I reset. No good. It would get stuck at the reset screen, over and over. Finally, I was forced to do a hard reset. Again.
*sigh*…
So now I’ve got it back to factory-fresh condition and no programs. Thankfully all my media files are in the SD card, so I can continue listening to my podcasts using the built-in media player.. and Betaplayer runs directly from the card, so I was able to watch Lost (great series, by the way) while I had lunch.. but I’m gonna have to restore it when I get home tonight, that sucks. And I haven’t done a proper backup in over a week.. I’m an idiot. Really should take my own advice about performing daily backups. Ah well..
Sorry, needed to rant.
