Don’t you hate it…
… when you throw something out, only to realize a few days later that there was something you wanted to do with it? Yeah… I got this hankering today after listening to the IT Conversations podcast about this little device that would sit there, recording everything you do, say, and see, day in and day out, and thenb you can search it. Well, I don’t have anywhere near the resources for soemthing like that, but I was thinking that maybe if I could find this El Cheapo QVGA mini digicam I had lying around (which I used to use as a webcam a couple years ago) I could take it with me, and once an hour or so, just take a picture of wherever I happen to be and whatever I happen to be doing. I could maybe take a note on GlitchX while I was at it. Then I could just upload the pics to Flickr, tag ‘em up with some metadata and descriptions from my notes, and have this running record of my days.. just for a while, as an experiment.
Of course, then I get home, look for the cam, and realize I threw it away a week or so ago while cleaning out my junk drawer, ’cause I figures I was never gonna use it again and I could get a better one for like $15 @ CompUSA… so now that’s what I’m gonna have to do. I’ll drop by CompUSA or OfficeMax or somesuch tomorrow if I have a chance, and try and snag me another El Cheapo cam. I’m not looking for multi-mega-pixel jobbos here, just something that can take a QVGA or better picture and can hold, say, at least 25 of them. I’m pretty sure I can snag one of those out of a bargain bin for less than $20. Wish me luck.
