Glorious Slack…
… my days as a Subgenius may have been mostly put behind me, praise “Bob”, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate it when I get to enjoy a moment or two of pure, unadulterated Slack. So it is with great pride that I announce everything I was able to do this weekend: Jack-shit.
Was there stuff I should have been doing? Yeah, probably. Most likely, important things that will come and bite me in the ass during the week. But rather than deal with them, I vegged out in front of the computer, played a metric butt-load of WoW, and did my damnedest to try and physically fuse with my chair. Ahhh… if only I could have a couple of months of this, and I’d be OK again. Really.. 3 years with no vacation, none at all, makes Katsu a dull boy. So I take my Slack where I can get it.
I apologize for the lack of ranting on the site, by the way. As always, all blame goes to WoW, direct your hate-filled rants over to the good people at Blizzard Entertainment. Besides, really, what’s the point of updating, when there’s shit like this out there to read? I mean, it’s like I’m drawing stick figures, while, right beside me, Van-fucking-Gogh is busy cranking out the masterpieces. My rantings are the words of a n00b, and they have been pwned.
But I shall persevere, oh yes, I shall go on. If for no other reason than out of spite. 
So this is my commitment to you, dear reader. This week, I shall post. I shall post shit every single day, at least once, maybe more than once. And when this week is over, there shall have been new material posted up on the site. People will dance in the streets, soldiers will lay down their weapons and smile, the intergalactic Love Aliens will finally come down in their Funky Motherships, and we shall all, together, get down as one people, at long last.

It’s not at all about teh pwnage, my friend. It’s not entirely about that groovy feeling you get when — after wasting hours scouring for sexy/funny pictures on the web, while you simultaneously try to set your thoughts down in as orderly and evocatively verbose way as possible — you get a bit of appreciation (and, dare I say it, respect) from your friends. It’s not *just* that feeling of l337n3ss: it’s really just for the fun of it, and the hopes that all your effort can at least make someone chuckle God knows how many miles away. It’s about entertainment. Like the mini-essay at the other end of your Slack link… it’s about making other people feel like I did when I read the word “pyroflatulence”. (Speaking of which, there’s one bad-ass band name if ever I’ve heard one… “Pyroflatulence”….) So, in that respect, I’d say we’re both successful: you in your economy, me in my bombastic excess. (And my frequent posting of t3h b00bies.:D)

What?!! You can’t dedicate time to your silly blog when Gnomeregan awaits! All free time must be dedicated to the reconstruction efforts of your lost homeland!

That you’re right on, it’s all about the fun of it, and that’s part of what I’d lost sight of.. but that’s changing now that I’m out of the deep funk I’d been in for the past couple of weeks.
Hell, I even recorded a podcast this morning on the way to work.. big changes afoot for the podcast, less of the ‘Tech News’ aspect, more of the ‘Random Angry Rants’ aspect.

Gnomereagan! My homeland, given over to Troggs and Leper Gnomes thanks to the betrayal of one of our own! This cannot stand! To me, my demons! We will cleanse Gnomereagan of this infestation!!!
… don’t worry, there won’t be less WoW time.. I’ll just be sure to squeeze some blog time in before bed at the very least.
