So, I’m noticing a sudden spike in hits and Google ad views. Not a huge one, mind you, but still fairly noticeable at the end of the month. So I go and take a look at my logs, and I see that most of the views are going here: the entry with pictures of the baby rats, a.k.a. kittens.

Apparently Google Images picked up one of the kittens.jpg pics in that article, and all of a sudden I’m being bombarded with visits from people looking for kittens. I’m sure those people must e fairly disappointed when they see baby rats instead.

Still, it did provide for some amusement: one of the web stats packages I use provides me with a list of the search terms that people have used to find this blog, and it reads like this:

So, with a 93.86% majority and nearly 16K visits, it seems that ‘kittens’ are the most important reason anyone visits my blog. Not my scintillating commentary, not my rugged, manly features, not even my rapier wit. No, it’s all random web searches for kittens.

Of course, now I have to pander to the kitten agenda. Expect a full redesign of the site within a week, with kitten graphics, kitten sounds, a kitten cursor, interactive javascript kittens, downloadable kitten wallpapers, and, of course, kitten dating services. My pageviews are gonna go through the fuckin’ roof!
